This collection contains bills, receipts, promissory notes, and legal documents of Daniel, Charles, Peter, and Martin Tooker and Peter McCartee of the New York City area gathered between 1811-1822. Miscellaneous bills and receipts are for food, clothing, medical care, funeral expenses, and pew rent. McCartee was apparently a courier who made payments on behalf of the Tookers.

The Tooker (Tucker) family lived in the New York City area in the early 19th century. In New York City directories, Daniel Tooker was listed as living on Mercer Street, but no occupation was listed.
